You don't make money, basically - I never even bother trying to sell
anything with my enchanter, I use it purely for de'ing, and occasionally
enchanting alts on my other account, and that's about it. Not even bothered
trying to get the expensive recipes either, though I'll take cheap ones as
I'm a completist and like to have them, even though I never use them. Been
hearing rumours that in WotLK there'll be some way to sell them on the AH,
and hopefully also mail to alts on same account - if that happens I'll
suddenly find it a lot more worthwhile.

It's a great moneymaker from de'ing, and a good source of arcane dust for
my tailors, but utterly useless for actually selling the skill unless you
*like* spamming tradechat and dealing with idiots a lot, and I don't

If they arent willing to tip me when i enchant ...then they can go to
someone else
no skin off my nose ...but on our server most enchanters when using someones
matts require a tip ...no tip no service ....and there are some sweet
enchants out there

This is a tough one...if you're one of the few with some nice enchants
that no one else has or are hard to find, I don't see anything wrong
with charging a fee for it. Just keep in mind that if it's your mats,
it should be cheaper than what you can buy from the AH...usually keep
it about 50-75% of the total AH cost..that would give them an
incentive to buy the mats from you rather than from the AH. Another
good selling point is to use your mats rather than theirs. My wife
uses hers mainly to DE all the epics and useless gear she gets from
raids then she advertises enchants using her mats. On a good week, she
can make 200+ gold on selling enchants...I know, that's not the super-
duper-gold-making-machine type of income, but with the enchants she
has (and getting), a lot of people are wanting for their alts or
twinks...of course, this is all depending on how things go on her
server. Typically, though, I would charge a few gold for Fiery Weapon
(like 5-10g) with my mats. Other enchants also go for about the same
cost since I'm down for the quantity of enchants. To me, it's a lot
better to have hundreds of 5g enchants instead of having only one 50g
enchant...

If you're a tailor, dreamweave gloves d/e into small radiant shard 99% of
the time.

If not, solo SM cathedral for 2x shards per run.

The enchant is worth 30-35g... 40g is a little high.

If you're getting a skill point for doing it, then offer the enchant free
with their mats - if not, then use your mats, using the above methods for
getting the shards, to make an easy profit.

Quoting a fixed price when someone brings materials is generally considered
a bad move for all but the most epic enchants (fiery is no longer one of
those). It's better to say 'tips accepted' and then laugh at the person if
they don't give you at least 5g in tip. *

It depends. If it's a raiding or grinding-based enchant, you bet I expect a
tip (from non-guildies anyway). otherwise, right.

Yep. The way I got to 375 was to pay someone 10g every time they brought
materials and I got a skillup, from 360 on up. It worked quite well, since
just one point at that level is likely to be more than 100g in materials.

Hm, I have never soloed RFD - it just never occured to me. Sounds like a
fun idea to try sometime.
