After dying three times in a mine because these invites kept popping up
and obscuring my vision at critical moments, I got a handy addon called
AutoDecline I saw mentioned on this group. Set it to auto-accept invites
from friends, guildies, and anyone who'd whispered me previously during
that login.

No more freaking spammers, or even boorish rude people who just think I'm
a prop in their one-person game. Now they won't waste their time or mine
with blind invites. Woot.

Actually they do work if the group is full - one time everyone I was
inviting to a Kara raid was slow to react, and I'd invited 4, couldn't
invite another until it got turned into a raid... as no-one had actually
accepted at that point I couldn't turn it inbto a raid yet. So if a lot of
people ignore invites it'll have an effect if the group is full (full
meaning including invited people who haven't yet joined - the invite
reserves a space for them I assume)
