Couldn't you just threaten the owner or something that it's against the
rules? >> Stay informed about: Serious Question about powerleveling |

Yes, but they're all from the same range (the range of your internet
provider).

I agree. Don't trust the p-levelling companies. They may be honest but they
could get you banned by mistake.
Share the account with a few trusted guild members. Use the assistance of a
mage or other that are not grouped with him. Let him tag the mob and do 10%
dmg, then have everybody else who's ungrouped go to town on it, he'll get
all the xp.
Do *NOT* have the account online 24x7, that will raise a red flag with blizz
and likely get it banned. I would not recommend having the account on for
more than 16 hrs a day, tops.

Can't he just go around a friends house and change his accounts password?
How does a internet cafe manager officially own an account? Can't you just
not tell him the password!
Was there some sort of deal that he owned the account so he could play there
for free? If he wasnt playing for free theres no way he should hand the
account over!
Just change passwords or whatever, if he went to the police they would just
laugh at him! Was this deal of him owning the account just done on word of
mouth?
Or if and when he tries to sell the account report it to blizzard to get it
banned, no ones wins but at least he gets some revenge! >> Stay informed about: Serious Question about powerleveling |

So how does that work? Do all players on the machine know the account
password? What's to stop one player logging to all the players' toons
and cleaning them out?
If it was me I'd start afresh on a brand new account, and do the
levelling myself. Once you've already levelled a character to 60 and
beyond, it's a lot quicker doing the next one. I think my hunter took
about 5.5 days /played, which isn't too long. Just look at the number
of level 70 alliance shamans and horde paladins running around
already, only 8 weeks after TBC was released.

Joana's 1-70 guide. I have headr of it - and even read a little form
it - looks really good...
However - Joana's guide is for Horde - dunno bout the ally guide... >> Stay informed about: Serious Question about powerleveling |

Good god - that's what guilds are FOR!! Guilds are *supposed* to help
members out, and a couple of people "powerlevelling" him the honest
way (by healing him as he fights, and helping with quests) is really
what he needs.
Don't use these parasites to level a character while you're afk -
it's plain shitheadedness to do so and there's always the risk of
being banned, too.

for years Not a single one of you thought of doing that??
Incredible.

In gaming, as in real life: Those who can cut it, do it - those who
can't have to pay someone.

Not that good. I tried it on my mage (level 50 now). Most levels are like:
do a few quests then grind until you ding. Well, I can do that without a
guide
Only positive about it is for complete newcomers who do not know where to
go to next.
Brian Kopp's guide looks good however, but that is not for free. >> Stay informed about: Serious Question about powerleveling |

You don't. That's entirely the point.
We had a guildie in a similar situation - his only character was hordeside
but wanted to move into our alliance guild so he could play with a
real-life friend. So, he bought an account. And he's had it snatched away 3
times now, twice from the original account holder, and once from the
company that brokered it. All 3 times he's SOMEHOW managed to get
Blizzard to reverse the transfer, but it's certainly not something I'd want
to deal with.

They're out there, I've seen excerpts on the web. Sounds dreadful, and I
can't see how it's THAT much faster than just making sure the friend's new
account has lots of help. *

By the way, I'd bet this isn't true anymore. 60 is the new 50, and an
account with 50s in it ain't worth anything. *
