Hello
First off I don't like the idea of powerleveling but an odd situation
has arisen in my guild.
One of our most active members plays WoW in an internet cafe. The WoW
account is officially owned by the manager of the cafe. This manager
has found out that his account with loads of lvl 60-70 chars on will
be worth alot and is selling the account.
As such the guild member is losing his lvl 70 rogue. He has tried to
talk to the manger to see if he can pay to transfer his toon onto
another account but the manager is not allowing it.
As a guild we have discussed clubbing together and paying for another
rogue to be powerleveled for him up to his level (70).
I know this is against EULA and usually against my principals, but
this is an unusual circumstance.
The question I have is, how do you know whether you can trust the
power-leveling company, ie how do you know they will actually level
your char and not just do a runner with your money?
If we don't go down the power leveling route, does anyone know a good
guide we could buy the guildie which helps in leveling as fast as
poss, ie which quests to do at which level etc.
Cheers for you help.
PS Please don't flame me, I'm against the idea, but I hate what the
cafe manager is doing more than I hate powerleveling. >> Stay informed about: Serious Question about powerleveling |

I'd not thought about getting others in the guild to all pitch in and
level the char. That could work.
I'll propse that to the guild later.
With regards to people being stupid for playing on a shared account.
WoW was his first ever MMORPG, he started playing it in the cafe. At
the time he started playing it he didn't know better. Now he knows
better than to play on a shared account but it's too late.
Anyway he's been playing on the account for about 1.5 years with no
probs. Somone made the mistake of telling the cafe owner that an
account with multiple 60+ chars on multiple servers is worth alot, and
he's going after the money.
He'll probably get another cafe account and then sell that a year
later too. A nice little earner for him, but a PITA for the players.
Cheers for your suggestions, any other ideas? >> Stay informed about: Serious Question about powerleveling |

I am sorry to hear this bad news, but from what I know there isnt a
great deal your friend can do...
I think the idea of a power level is horrible but the idea of the
guildies having a play would be great.. I am sure within 2/3 weeks you
could have the character right up to where it should be..
Can you not have your own account even if you play in a cafe or is it
always owned by yhe cafe owner?? >> Stay informed about: Serious Question about powerleveling |

Even if I did want to get a new character up to 70 without doing it
myself I wouldn't use a powerlevelling company for one reason. I
couldn't trust them not to log into my account and sell all my stuff
for all my characters and pass the gold to another account for
selling. This isn't an issue for a newly created account so the risks
that you have are a) they just take your money and don't do the
powerlevel and b) when you get to 70 you have a bad rep for being a
gold farmer/ninja/bad team mate etc. The second issue is easily
solved by starting on a different server and paying for the transfer
when the job is done. When your friend gets to 70 he may find that he
has very little cash and you will almost certainly not have any
professions other than first aid (and even that only if the company
thinks the time investment on the first aid is worth it to speed the
levelling)
All in all it seems that the only major risk is paying for the service
and not getting it (or they do it but get banned for some reason which
would be the same end result)
It's up to your friend to decide whether it is worth the risk.
There is Jame's Horde Levelling guide which I've looked at and seems
good: www.wow-pro.com/node/739
On the same site there is Jame's Alliance Levelling guide too:
www.wow-pro.com/node/603
The horde guide for the few levels I looked at seem very thorough. He
even tells you how much water/food to take out on each run and where
to set your hearthstone. Tells you which quests to take leaving out
ones that he thinks are too much effort for too little reward.

I know people that have had good experiences with paid powerlevers at
Swagvault.com
Never banned, they used brand new, clean accounts though to be safe.
You can pay extra for them to get your epic mount, and two 375
professions. This was back in the day of 60 though, I bet it is much
higher these days. It took 2-3 calendar weeks. >> Stay informed about: Serious Question about powerleveling |

I read a blogger who says he's used Bryan Kopp's Alliance
Powerlevelling guide and has gotten to 69 in under 60 hours /played.
http://www.the-wow-blog.com/how-to-get-to-level-70-fast/
I haven't bought any guides myself, and I'm sure there's summary
guides online if you search for "warcraft powerlevelling guide" in
Google.

Not saying you are full of it.........but there is NO F-ing way you
can get to 69 in under 60 played hours. That is more than a level per
hour. That simply WILL NOT happen when you get into the 40+ range. >> Stay informed about: Serious Question about powerleveling |

Sorry to hear about this, that cafe owner is a real bastard. Hope he
loses alot of customers because of this.
As for your friends character there's really not much to do since even
if the cafe owner would let him tranfer the char to another account,
Blizzard would not. They only allow that when both accounts are owned
by the same person.
Using a powerlevelling service is a really bad idea IMO. As you say
yourself, you can't know whether you can trust them or they just take
your money and do nothing, and even if they do the levelling you have
no idea what sort of rep your char would get on the server. Also, if
they respec a lot during levelling you might come in and find you need
to pay a hefty sum to get a spec you like, but I guess that's a minor
issue if the guild is willing to chip in with a few gold each.
Others have suggested having guildies play the account when he's not
playing himself, and I thought of exactly the same thing when I first
read your post. He would be 70 really fast this way (and people who
haven't tried to play his class before would get a chance to try that
as well). Just remember to have him change the password later on
You also mention guides. I've seen ads for both horde and ally
levelling guides for sale at a pretty reasonable price. The author of
the horde one is called Joana, don't about the alliance one. I saw
them on eBay when searching for a murloc

I used one before and know people who have used others, and never had
a problem with the companies themselves - although I would change my
password IMMEDIATELY when the leveling is complete.
HOWEVER - I tried to do this again recently and both times my account
was *permanantely* banned by Blizzard within 2 hours of the leveling
service. This was on US servers. I have a feeling that if you are on
EU servers it is not policed as much (just my observation but could be
wrong).
I think if you try this, I would do it on a clean unused account to be
safe incase it gets banned. And you might want to level yourself to
level 10 or 15 or something.
Good luck and please let us know how it turns out! >> Stay informed about: Serious Question about powerleveling |

No the game was bought and paid for by the cafe owner. The guildie
went to the cafe and started a toon on the WoW that was already logged
into and at the char screen.
He pays to go and play there and plays his char, >> Stay informed about: Serious Question about powerleveling |

There is a lvling guide for both Alliance and Horde at
www.wow-pro.com/node/599
This is a solo quest guide. You never gain that much XP in a group.
Its far better to solo. >> Stay informed about: Serious Question about powerleveling |

How stupid people can be... it's a huge risk not to play your own account.
I think cafe owners account should be banned and all players who really like
this game go and BUY own copy of this game.

Can't help you with the service, but how about "sharing" the new
account in the guild, so everyone who's got some time plays the new
character? I don't know about your guild, but in my (casual) guild
there's someone online at almost any time of the day. Like that, it
shouldn't take too long to get him to 70.
(OTOH, blizzard could find it suspicious when 20 different IP
adresses access the account)

Sympathy for your buddy, but creating a toon on an account that
doesn't belong to yourself is bound to have consequences like this.
