On Alliance 51-60, Shadowburn battlegroup, our late-night crowd often
has zero afkers. Half of us are seasoned pros, lots of twinks, we get
full buffs going, random insults flying around (nothing serious), then
we roll the Horde. It's great fun.
On Alliance 61-70, Shadowburn battlegroup, it's exactly the opposite.
Horde wins 95% of the time, and we have 10-20 afkers always, no
exaggeration. I've seen fully half the team huddling in or near the
cave. People just talk about losing, and very few buffs are given out.
What's really sad is when you can't even get the active players to
report and debuff the leeches. And even sadder, we often can't take or
defend a single objective so our grand total bonus honor (which is all
the leeches see) is 20.
I think I'll be leaving my lvl 60 twink fire mage unleveled for a long
while... maybe max him out at 75k honor before considering the next step.

Actually I really like the changes. What your faction does with the
battlefield is up to them. You can make it a resource-trading rush and
see who wins in 10 minutes or whatever, or you can send teams of
defenders (2-5 good people) and retake stuff, boosting your bonus honor
and making a hearty fight of it. In fact it's inevitable that your
faction will discover the wisdom of doing things right -- defending
stuff not only boosts your honor but makes the killing of your General
much harder with the warmasters, and killing the captains is a huge
boost of reinforcements, honor, and removes the periodic buff for the
other team. In my battlegroup everyone used to skip the captains
(Alliance and Horde both) now everyone kills them very quickly, either
before or after the first graveyard. And people defend them too --
repeated aoe fests at Balinda to save her are some of the most glorious
moments in AV imho.
The only complaint I have about the new AV is that the reinforcements
are too low for the real fights to come to a satisfying end. Teams that
struggle and defend will slowly resolve the battle through tower/bunker
destruction and reinforcements, and almost never have a chance to fight
the general because the game ends just a bit too soon. 700
reinforcements instead of 600 is probably the right balance, and the
matches still won't last a full hour.
