Yep, we went through this stage too - it was nuts given how easy it is to
mine copper, and how fast you jewelcraft past it. Goofy. *

Lol, you weren't trying to tank with a two hander were you?
Sorry mate, I never took a shield bearing class past level 22, but I
even I know that you tank with a shield.
So, you're not talking solo'ing here, you are with a party, you
_should_ know that...
Its like a hunter melee'ing, its big sign that you know absolutely
nothing about the class and the role...

I've seen tanks go without a shield and do it successfully. The guild
leader of an old guild I was in was a troll warrior in T4/5 gear that
tanked scholo dual-wielding swords instead of having a shield. Did it
without any wipes too. We only went as far as Ras Frostwhisper, as
this run was part of my dreadsteed questline.
Melee hunter can also be done. Its hard to do but there are a few
hunters out there who have done it successfully. Granted the
strengths of the class are in ranged/pet combat, but melee is an
option for a properly geared and specced hunter.
Now, a warlock, mage, or priest using melee attacks, thats a bit of a
problem there. Even by stacking strength and agility gear, there are
no special class spells or abilities that lets those classes do melee
combat. I did once encounter a "hybrid" warlock who stacked strength
and agility cloth that he found. There can't be a lot of these kind
of items out there though, so I have no idea how far this warlock
eventually got. Its obvious he was doing it on purpose too. >> Stay informed about: Saying that I bought gold.. How rude!! |

That I don't know about, I just know it has been done, and I have seen
screenshots of this level 70 hunter with 1/350 in bows/guns/crossbows. >> Stay informed about: Saying that I bought gold.. How rude!! |

I stood and watched a well druid bear tank Underbog with virtually no
heals. I dps'ed in the end, because my shadow priest was better use
there.
Last normal Black Morass, a different druid bear tank tanked in his
dps gear because he was so overgeared that he dodge all the hits and
couldn't get rage...
I'm sure he could have tried tanking it in cat form, but it wouldn't
be right... Bit like throwing away a third of your armor when
tanking

Yeah, they can do it, its not the point, its playing a hunter like an
enhancement shaman/mail yielding rogue... You'd tend to get kicked
from an instance for that...
Fine if they are solo, they can do what they want...

And we can pursue this analogy. Suppose a pro golfer happened to be
doing a round with you, and you scored a hole in one. Would the pro
be offended if you danced around saying "W00t! I beat you on this
hole!"?
That seems quite like the scenario with the low-level hunter. As I
said, it reads to me like an inverted compliment, or at least intended
as such!

Heh. I've been meleeing a lot lately, on single mobs, trying to get that
last skill point in polearms. Geeeeeeeeeeez, how many hits does it take to
top it off, anyway? I've been at 349/350 for days, now.

I cheated. I had 3 70s and with my hunter I think I got to 70 by
killing and farming alone and did maybe 10 Outland quests. Once I hit
70 I did hte rest of the quests and got 5 K gold in no time then moved
to nether wing and farmed 10 K gold for my other 2 70s.
Guess what? I'm sick of farming. heh!
Now the gold just comes and adds up from transmutes and AH sales of
bars and primals and herbs and by the time I have another 70 I can
pretty much bet that I will have mroe than enough gold to get that one
an epic - and the next and the next.
Congrats on your hard work and I want to add that since I had my epic
the only place I pay for flying is in the old world.
Keep up the great play.

Two things wrong with this. 1) *I* would never be doing a round with a pro
golfer and 2) *I* would never dance around saying, "I beat you on this
hole!" I would be jumping up and down, alone, saying "I got a hole in one!

Lousy way to give a compliment. He needs to work on his social skills.

Hehe my hunter's been stuck there for months! Granted I don't play him
much, but whenever I do I'm meleeing away, and no skillup, bah
