I just looked up the shard on Allakhazam and some were saying they got them
from DEing Verimonde's Last Resort
http://wow.allakhazam.com/db/item.html?witem=22688&locale=enUS;source=live
You can get it from the repeatable AD rep reward quests in EPL.. you need
insignias of the dawn and insignias of the crusade to get it, so depending
on your rep with AD and the amount of time you want to grind for insignias,
you might be better off running the level 60 dungeons like ZG... at lvl 70
your pet shouldnt have a problem with the trash, not sure how you'd fare
against the boss encounters though. You might also be able to farm the
Hellfire Citadel instances, particularly Ramparts since I believe it's the
easiest of the group. >> Stay informed about: Are there any bosses which a 70 hunter can easily solo far.. |

Not sure if it's soloable but a guildie hunter says he can do it pretty
well with his brother's shaman healing (think he dual-boxes them), dunno if
it's soloable but might be possible.

Farming ZG solo is going to be nigh on impossible, to be honest. The
trash there is in groups that are pretty brutal and most of the bosses
have friends. Friends that hit very hard. >> Stay informed about: Are there any bosses which a 70 hunter can easily solo far.. |

While I haven't tried, a level 70 might have a chance to solo watchkeeper
Gargolmar (first boss in ramparts), level 62 elite with 2 healing adds and
some 10 adds to kill before. His blues disenchant to small prismatic shards.
Other than that, It would only be nexus crystals from older world dungeons,
(think nexus transformation). BRD seems to have one with near reasonable
drop rate: Savage Gladiator Chain (16% on one of the 6 arena bosses)
other things look harder (crafted things seem to need ingredients that cost
more than a prismatic shard) >> Stay informed about: Are there any bosses which a 70 hunter can easily solo far.. |

As for DE'ing crafted items, DE'ing imbued netherweave items (boots, tunic,
robe, and pants) will produce both large and small prismatic shards. So,
rather than farm bosses, farm for netherweave cloth, netherweave spider
silk, greens (DE into arcane dust), and get a guildie tailor to make you
imbued netherweave stuff from your mats.
Good luck,

Don't believe so. There is a video somewhere on YouTube of a frost
mage soloing the first boss of Slave Pens. He uses invisiblity and
blink to bypass the patrols. If you watch the video it takes him a
very long time to kill the boss and he uses potions and bandages during
breaks.
It seems that ever since Blizzard updated the reagents for the
enchanting recipes the value of the large brilliant shard has gone
down. Use to be able to sell them for 9G/shard, now it's down to
6g/shard and I suspect it will go even lower. The large prismatic
shard that once went for 12G-18G is now going for 24G per shard.
I suspect that is why you are asking. You can try disenchanting blues
levels 65+ from the AH to see if you are get a shard off them (if they
are cheaper than the shards themselves of course).
I also suspect that the market was flooded with prismatic shards by
tailors that were leveling up their profession to get the
Shadowweave/Spellfire sets. Now that most people have those sets the
market is low on prismatic shards.

The price on them has been going up steadily over the past 2 weeks. It
is more than 50% over what I'd be willing to pay. According to the
responses above, I may not have much choice, unless there is a
leatherworking recipe which can be disenchanted more profitably than
the draenic sets. >> Stay informed about: Are there any bosses which a 70 hunter can easily solo far.. |
