Anyone know of a quiet place to farm for Northrend greens?

In BC, I never finished the quest in Wildhammer Stronghold where you kill
ghosts wearing some goggles. This allowed me to farm without interruption
from Horde since I am on a PVP server. I've leveled inscription up on my
DK, so I need a bunch of enchanting mats for my mage so I can level up.

Thanks,
Adam

Honestly, on my server most of the mid-to early level zones are
getting a little dried up at this point. Borean and Howling Fjord are
not empty, but you can farm without much interference. Grizzly Hills
and Zul'drak are similar. Seems like Scholozar Basin, Icecrown and
Storm Peaks are taking the brunt of the traffic atm.

Maybe try just going back and hitting the early zones (though
admittedly, the lower level greens will D/E into less mats on a per
item basis than if you farmed higher level areas).

You might too just try farming for gold in the most efficient way you
know possible. Economies have a way of balancing effort for gold to
an equal relation to gold to item, so if you can farm the gold and buy
what you need off the AH you might still come out ahead.

Not at the moment, the economy is awash with gold that people saved up
doing dailies at 70. There's a *lot* of gold to be made off other
players at the moment, and dusting greens is one good way to do it
right now. The new season is only going to improve that, as far as
enchanting and jewelcrafting are concerned at least.

I would do every Northrend quest and D/E the quest rewards, that
should provide alot of mats and money.

I have no idea if this works, but are you invisible to horde if you
go into the misty phased area near their town in Borean Tundra?
And do the mobs in the mist drop greens?

Actually, you just gave me an idea. There is a quest where you activate a
trinket and get phased in to another world in Howling Fjord. If Horde
comes, just pop the trinket. I think I'll try that.

Thanks!

I mailed a tailor guildie 800 cloth to make me some Frostweave bags

Yes, I notice this, too. I use Consecrate to "snatch" any Sky Terrors
who think they are going to fly in and whisk away that NPC I'm trying
to defend. If I get one, the three mobs I am fighting re-set and run
away, and I'm left fighting the Sky Terror with my Judgement and other
CDs up. Then a few seconds later, the mobs that ran away come back
with full health.

And why do the Argent Crusade NPCs always fear the one mob I had SoL
Judged on? I'm surrounded by 12 mobs, and you have to pick *that*
one? Razz

I'd really like a Mass Loot button. I can go forever in that place
without eating or drinking and it drives me absolutely crazy when that
Argent Crusader I spent five minutes protecting and fighting alongside
gets whisked away by a Sky Terror because I dared take the time to
loot some of the 30 corpses strewn about and by the time it registered
it was out of my 30-yard Avenger's Shield range.

Or, worse, AS was on CD. WTB more ranged options. It's such an
impotent feeling having the Sky Terror in my sights, spam pressing the
"9" button, being told that I can't use that yet, and being able to do
absolutely nothing as the Argent Crusade NPC falls to his death.

I'm a Paladin who can't save an ally from an Undead mob.

Irony!

hmmm I never thought of farming this spot

might be intresting to make mobs go boom and I could use the extra
cash and cloth as a tailor

I know where I'm farming this week

also I might suggest for low level mobs the mobs near the Amber Ledge
in Borean Tundra (close to Coldrea)

tons of mobs there and the respawn rate is so ramped up there is
almost no down time

I just want to point out that the reason why I love this place is
because my Paladin is Protecton and this place is ideal for him - no
caster mobs, can pull lots at once, can additionally use Righteous
Defense to collect more mobs.

I never have to eat or drink because of SoL/BSanc. I could literally
go on forever, except I have to stop to loot sometimes.

If you are a class that can't take on 15 mobs at once, or go from
group to group with zero downtime, you likely won't find this place
any better or worse than any other place.

I just really like it here because, specific to my class, my, um,
things killed/looted:time spent playing ratio is much higher here than
other places, so it seems like I get more here.

Additionally, the Argent Crusade NPCs do help by doing DPS and fearing
mobs. And if you nabbed a Sky Terror while it's holding an AC NPC, the
NPC will help you fight, even while dangling off the ground, if you're
fighting other mobs (but cannot help if it's just you and the Sky
Terror).

Fight on, brave little female Dwarf. Fight on. Smile

lol hmm well my Mage is really good at making things go boom

she can easily 2-3 shot mobs so even though I can't group them up a
place where mobs are grouped together shouldn't be too bad for me

I can pull 2-3 Frost Nova

cast slow then blow one up slow the other and blow the other up

plus I make my own food and water ... that's better then having to
find mage food or buy them

Argent Crusade above the path where you have a large Titan Giant
patrolling and it's near the zone where you have do the questline for
Betrayal

if you ever did the quest where you have to use the large seaforium
charge to free the Giant and then ride around on his back while you
defeat Scourge mobs and then 3 elites... then you should see a long
stone path in the middle of the map ... that leads to Argent Crusade

there's also someone that asks you to help them up there and sends you
up to them

I farm them on the Auction House. I but Cobalt, craft Reinforced
Cobalt Chestpiece (pattern drops off Venture Co miners in Sholazar)
for 4 cobalt, and get a friend to diss them into an average of 3.5
dusts, and a decent chance of an essence or a shard (although the
shards are less valuable). I buy any and all cobalt that's 3g a piece
or below, I could probably make a profit on up to 4g. As soon as I
level my enchanter up to 50 I won't need to get someone else to do it.
