A big thanks to whoever mentioned the Argent Strand in Zul'drak as a
good place for frostweave. I popped along there last night and managed
to get all the cloth I needed for my Magnificent Flying Carpet (180
pieces of cloth) in less than 1hr.
What a great farming spot!

Get lots questing in Icecrown too, since the quest are generally for
killing humanoids and thus drop it. >> Stay informed about: Farming Frostweave |

After reading yesterday's thread and needing to farm cloth for my
carpet, I did EXACTLY this last night, and got my epic rug too!
Incredible place to farm for cloth and I also made quite a bit of cash
and some dust and essence from green drops too. My warlock was
running around in circles dotting everything in sight and once in a
while stopping to loot the pile of corpses. Loads of fun, quite
intense but extremely profitable.
Thanks also from me for the great tip. >> Stay informed about: Farming Frostweave |

Yup, I just love that place.
I've actually been farming there all week, works so well with the Prot
Paladin playstyle. I have more greens and runic potions than I know
what to do with, and my banker's mailbox has 5 "pages" of mail full of
Frostweave cloth because I have run out of places to put it. My
Paladin is not a tailor and his First Aid is maxxed. I have never been
an AH whiz, but perhaps I'll sell some as I literally have no idea
what to do with the stuff.
Two more blues dropped, and last night my first Titanium lockbox
dropped. It's blue, so now I am in search of a Rogue (my Cobalt keys
can't open it, and I'm not wasting Titanium ore on keys).
I've also made about 2,500 gold from vendor trash. (I know this
for a fact because I "dinged" 10K gold there over the weekend - I was
so excited to have a 5-digit bank account - and now I'm sitting at
12,500 gold.)

By "wrong thing", do you mean farming the wrong place?
Due to time constraints I have decided to concentrate on one character
only - my Paladin, who's a tank (i.e., I don't have a high DPS farmer,
such as, oh, I dunno, a Warlock).
While I'm not specifically farming Frostweave - I farm the Argent
Stand because I have a blast - understand that my DPS increases
significantly here because of my Undead/Demon-specific skills. I can
also take on more mobs at a time, resulting in more loot.
Perhaps Icecrown humanoids have a higher drop rate, but if I can only
kill one in the time it takes me to kill four Argent Stand mobs, I'm
not really doing it "wrong".

Yeah I got more tailoring skillups the last few days questing in
Icecrown than I did in ages before that, has a nice droprate on cloth
 I can make spellthread now!

hmmm if you have a bank character and you're still using the mailbox
system
sad to say you're behind the times
it's far more cost effective to create your own guild bank
I spent about an hour running around Stormwind one Sunday getting some
people to sign my charter
now I have my own guild bank with 2 banking slots and tons of room to
hold all my odds and ends including all my extra gold
I plan to definately try out your farming spot this weekend as I need
more cloth and this seems like a good entry location to get fast easy
cloth with some money attached to it
cheers >> Stay informed about: Farming Frostweave |

But then wouldn't my Paladin main and my level 4 Warlock banker have
to be in the same guild? Obviously they would have to be; otherwise,
how would each access the other's guild bank?
Seeing as my Paladin is already in a guild, this presents a problem.
It is a pain sending everything via mail, especially since I am poorly
organized and a terrible packrat, which is a dangerous combination.
Then again, being able to send my characters items immediately and
safely sure beats "muling" in D2: LoD, where, in order to transfer
items, you had to create a game, keep it active for at least five
minutes, then drop your items on the ground, log out, log in with the
banker, and desperately pray you didn't get the dreaded "Your
Conenction Has Been Interrupted - Game Does Not Exist" message,
meaning you could kiss those items on the ground good-bye.

Once you're at the right level, do the dailies in icecrown. You get a TON
of frostweave doing it, because everything involves humanoids. *

lol yeah coming from D2:LoD I had that issue too unless you knew
someone ingame or in real life that was online to transfer the stuff
you had and you could trust them not to run off with the stuff
hmm nope to answer your first question you don't have to be in the
same guild
you create a level 1 character have him form and create a guild then
send some gold to this character via the ingame mailbox
that character then purchases the guild bank for 100g then the next
slot is 250 gold and the next 500 and finally 1000 gold for a full
guild bank
after which you simply mail all the stuff to this character and then
organize the stuff into the guild bank
if you ever want to get something out ... you simply log on the guild
bank take it out and send it to your main character
ingame mail is instant between characters on the same account
and this gives you a very large bank to keep all your stuff for a very
minimum cost
without having to worry about the 30 day item will disappear in
mailbox thing or having to keep sending stuff back and forth to hold
it in your account
I keep my enchanting stuff as well as my gold on this character >> Stay informed about: Farming Frostweave |

Is there a good place to farm pearls? I've been sending my cloth to my
sister, the guild tailor, and she said she needs pearls. (I haven't looked
at the patterns to see what they're for.) So far I've only seen one pearl
while fishing at one of the Kalu'ak villages. >> Stay informed about: Farming Frostweave |

Like smithing and not knowing about the Reinforced Cobalt patterns. I shot
up to 420 in no time once I knew about those, and the patterns were easy
and fun to farm on my 71 prot/aoe paladin. Gathering 6 level 75-76 mobs and
letting them die beating on me again demonstrated what a good build this
is. >> Stay informed about: Farming Frostweave |

They have a chance to be contained in Darkwater Clams, which can be
fished or dropped from mobs.

Interesting to note that one mob type are the Winterfin Murlocs and
that Ahlurglgr, the repairperson from the quests you do there, sells
them in Limited Supply. So I suppose you could farm the Winterfin
Murlocs for DW Clams, hoping they contain a pearl, while collecting
the Winterfin Clams to use as currency.

Another spot is the cave near the "gnome" airstrip in Borean Tundra (you
can see the cave on the map). Go to the end of the cave and there is a
lot of Magnataur "kids" which I can almost one-shot with Holy Nova.
Their droprate might not be better than other mobs, but as a holy priest
I can AoE 5-10 of them simultaneously >> Stay informed about: Farming Frostweave |
