With 2.3, Blizzard added a couple of new farmable crafting recipes,
and I was wondering what other ones are out there that I might have
missed. Now that my priest can solo without going oom every two mobs,
farming the Chatoic meta pattern only took about 35 minutes...
By "farmable", I mean it drops from one or two types of monsters that
are soloable.
Here are the ones in BC that I know about:
Jewelcrafting
Chaotic Skyfire Diamond (Coilskar Sirens, SMV)
Engineering
Khorium Scope (Sunfury Bowman, NS)
Field Repair Bot 110G (Gan'Arg Analyzers, BEM)
Adamantite Arrow Maker (Sunfury Archer, NS)
Any good Tailoring ones? How about Enchanting? Or any profession,
really...
Nick
Moonrunner: Ellenfeiss (Human Warlock, 70) Aynrand (Night Elf Rogue, 70)
Maryprankstr (Human Priest, 70) Joanbaez (Night Elf Druid, 70)

There is the new leatherworking pattern for some kind of bag (I forget
what it stores) that drops from the ogres above Shattrath. >> Stay informed about: Farmable Crafting Recipes? |

There's also an engineering recipe that drops in Forge Camp Anger in BEM. A
rifle I think.

There's ring patterns too, off arakkoa in Blade's Edge, undead arakkoa in
SMV and the arcaney mobs at Wizard row in Netherstorm. I forget the exact
details as it's a while since I got them.

Tailoring ones are all inside instances, there's a bunch of enchanting ones
I believe, and another bunch of blacksmithing/alchemy... no leatherworking
though, so of course the professions I have on characters actually capable
of farming the mobs don't have any. Oh, I forgot the new leatherworking
bag, so ok, they have *one* farmable recipe...

Since the expansion, tradeskill recipes come in two kinds: BOP and BOE.
BOP recipes are only lootable by someone with that tradeskill. If you
don't have the tradeskill you'll never see it drop, even if you're
soloing. BOE recipes, on the other hand, are lootable by anyone.
In my experience, most of the "farmable" recipes are BOP, so they're
really only farmable by someone with the tradeskill. BOE recipes
tend to be world drops.

Not to step on any toes, but my toon JustinMahn saw a recipe drop
tonight with requires Leatherworking 260 from Sethek halls. He doesn't
have leatherworking skill, and he couldn't pick it up, but he did see
it. I quickly got my buddy to come over and loot the corpse right after
I released the loot window. >> Stay informed about: Farmable Crafting Recipes? |

From the 2.3 patchnotes:
"If a player is looting a corpse and there are one or more items on it
that player cannot loot, the player will still be able to see those items
(although not able to loot them). This only is for green or better quality
items. The cases this should affect are for the profession recipes that only
a player of that profession can loot or when master looter is on and there
is a threshold or better item on the corpse."
So, as a GM would say, working as intended.
